Part #298090S
This is a round, inline fuel filter with 0.25-inch nipples, used in a variety of lawn and garden equipment. It is sourced from the original equipment manufacturer and has the capability to filter out particles as small as 150 microns in size. The filter is designed to remove any dirt or debris in the fuel to avoid contaminating the engine. Over time, it is common for the filter to become clogged with dirt/debris or damaged, resulting in less fuel entering the engine, engine misfiring, stalling, and overall lower performance from your equipment. Install the new filter into the housing and reattach the fuel lines to complete your repair.

Part #1705897SM
This ball bearing is sourced from the original equipment manufacturer and can be used in a variety of outdoor equipment. It has an inner diameter of 11/16 inches. The ball bearing provides support for the rotating parts in your equipment and reduces the amount of friction they are subject to during use. If the bearing is not adequately lubricated or has worn down, you may hear grinding or squeaking from your equipment and notice excessive vibration when in use. It is important to address this issue promptly as a faulty ball bearing can potentially damage the parts located near it. Pulley-starter
Part #295871
Difficulty pulling the starter rope or a cord that stays extended can result from a damaged recoil pulley. This wheel guides and stores the rope while helping turn the engine during starting. Similar symptoms can come from a frayed rope, seized engine, bent starter housing, broken pawls, or weak return spring, so check those items first. Match the replacement to the full engine model, type, code, and equipment model. Work on a cool engine with the spark plug lead removed. Release spring tension slowly and keep your face and hands clear of the starter housing. Route the rope correctly, confirm smooth return, and reinstall every guard before starting the engine.

Part #399671
Hard starting may come from the recoil system instead of the carburetor or spark plug. If the rope pulls but the engine does not turn, the starter clutch may be worn, dirty, or jammed. The clutch turns the crankshaft during starting and lets go when the engine runs. First inspect the rope, rewind spring, pulley, flywheel screen, and clutch bearing. Confirm fit with the complete engine number. Remove the spark plug wire, wait for hot parts to cool, and keep dirt out of the bearing area. Test free movement before putting the shroud back on.

Armature-magneto
★★★★★

Part #591459
Hard starting or an engine that suddenly stops may point to a damaged magneto armature. This ignition coil turns magnetic energy from the spinning flywheel into the electrical pulse that fires the spark plug. First try a known-good spark plug and inspect the safety switches, grounding wire, terminals, and flywheel magnet. Confirm fit from the full engine identification numbers, since similar coils may mount differently. Work only with the engine off and cool. Disconnect the battery and spark plug lead before removing covers. During installation, use the air gap listed in the service manual and tighten the mounting screws evenly. Keep hands clear of the flywheel and use an insulated tester to check for spark.
