Door handle end cap got brittle and broke on oven door.
  • James from Wiscasset, ME
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Nutdriver, Socket set
Slide oven door off slides and put oven door on table. Removed 2 torx-20 screws from top of oven door on the inside. Remove 4 sheet medal screws from the bottom of door 1/4' socket heads. The inside of the door will now separate from the front of door. Now you can see 2 screws on each side of the door handle end caps on 1/4 " socket heads. Remove the 2 screws on which ever side is broken and remove old end cap and side new one on an install 2 screw. When you put door back together there are 2 spring steel spacers that fall off the top 2 screws that hold the inside and outside at the proper space! Parts Select service is EXCELLENT!!!!!

Left bracket broken on range oven door handle.
  • Roger from De Soto, MO
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers
Using a torx screwdriver, I removed the old handle bracket. I had to be careful not to lose a metal spacer that went between the back of the door front panel and the back of the inside door panel. With the door in full open position, I was able to hold this spacer in my thumb and fore finger while I removed the screw. The broken portio n of the handle bracket fell to the floor. With the old handle removed, I placed the screw through a hole in the inside panel, through the spacer and through a hole in the front panel. While holding the front pull bar in the right handle bracket, I placed the new bracket on the bar holding it in position on the door and attaching the screw. Easy peasy!

Oven Door Handle End Caps.

I purchased my stove second hand. It was a mess but I saw a gem under all that dirt and grime. It took me a week and it looked brand new. The end caps on the oven door handle were discolored and cracked. They made the stove look old. It was an easy repair and my stove looks brand new. I will order an extra set just in case as these pa rts are getting harder and harder to find. I am so pleased with the original parts. They were here with in days and well before promised delivery date.
