Push release button, pull out filter cartridge . Replace with new cartridge.

I pushed the button on the filter holder to release the filter by pushing it out of the holder pulled it out all the way and put the new one in. The whole prosses took five seconds.

It is very easy..........push button on the exissting filter. It removes easly, then insert new one. Remember to run the water for 3 minutes before next use. It took about 5 minutes.

No problem. Just push the button and pop out the old filter, pop in the new one, and reset the indicator by pressing and holding the "filter reset" button on the control panel.
I also needed to replace the water actuator handle on the front panel ice and water dispenser panel. That took a few more minutes to do but I wanted t ... Read more o share that I ordered the actuator arm from the Sears parts store at the same time that I ordered the filter from Parts Select. (parts select showed it out of stock and Sears showed it in stock).
I got notification that they were going to ship my part from Sears on the same day that the part from Parts Select arrived at my doorstep. It took about a week and a half more time to get the part from Sears and they charge more money on top of that.
Parts Select is my new parts store.

The filter was readily removed by pressing the appropriate button. The replacement fiter easily slipped into place.

Removed the water filter cover and then removed the water filter in place, and replaced with the new filter, replaced the cover. Repair done, less than 2 minutes.
