i watched the video from Part Select. did exactly as seen and presto it was easily done. never could've done it without Part Select.

This was a classic easy repair and I am sure saved us bundles on a service call.

Googled dryer won't start! From information on the Parts Select website, I determined it was possibly the dryer door switch. Checked the dryer to confirm status of door switch and found it broken! Used information from Parts select website to remove two screws from vent filter, used screwdriver to pop the top of dryer at each front corner, removed two long screws from the old switch and replaced the broken actuator on the switch with the new actuator received from Parts Select. Note: It was easier to remove old switch with the wires removed from terminals (just pull off), replacing the wires after securing the switch and actuator back in place. Piece of cake, wife happy, received her king of the roost reward :>)) This is also a good time to clean the lint filter area and the hoses to prevent one of those 16,000 annual dryer fires!!!

It told me how to identify the correct part (there are multiple latch pieces in the repair kit, and one of them matches the type of door for the dryer), and how to disassemble the door to get the part installed. The dryer just stopped after a new load of clothes was put in. It appeared to be a power problem as there were not warnings, it just stopped. My wife is not happy though, as she wanted a new dryer:)

First I popped open the top of the dryer so I could see the part. I removed two screws from inside the door that hold the spring lever and switch together. I removed the spring lever which is also like a bracket that holds the switch in place. Put the spring lever back in place over the switch and reinserted the two screws. Done in ab ... My husband took the plastic cover off and took out old bulb and screwed in the new one. Then put the cover back on.

take the old latch out and pop the new one in. Your repair kit worked perfect.

Loosened two screws in back top of drier and pulled forward and up to hinge top of drier and allow access to door switch.Took out broken actuator spring and replaced with new one,snapped lid back in place and put screws back in hinges and job was done.

The Door Swith Acuator Spring was broken. I unplugged the dryer. Removed the two screws on the top control panel. Lifted the top of the dryer and propped it up. Read more e two screws that hold the switch just enough to remove the actuator. You do not have to completely remove the screws. Slip in the new actuator and reverse the process. Voila ... you have a new dryer and a very happy better half. I was given a kitchen pass to play golf and savor some "spirit" water.

Advice: Don't slam the dryer door. The actuator will last longer.

I removed the plastic latch using a screw driver to pry it out. I had to use pliers to completely remove it. Then I snapped the new piece in. It worked perfectly the first time. Very easy repair.

Reviewed the video showing how to remove the bad-order part and install the new part. No problem. Installing the new part was exactly what was shown in the video on the web page.
