Your web site is amazing Ive enjoyed watching your videos, this is a really great way to see what it takes to repair your washer very informative. Steve was a good teacher for me I just followed along as he explained each step and my washer came apart just like he said. I removed the two front console screws and pulled slightly forward and lifted console up and tilted it back where it was out of the way. next I was able to lift cabinet up from the back and remove it from the frame and lay cabinet on the floor on top of a rug I had to protect the finish on cabinet . Now I had access to the lid switch and simply removed the two screws in the cabinet and the old switch. I connected the two wire connections to the new switch (no)normally open connection, used same actuator the instructions say to do this because the one that comes with the new switch won't fit so use the old one. on my washer there's a cover that fits under this switch and It took me a little longer to get the screws to line up so they fit through the switch and into the cover but It worked fine. Now all I had to do was reinstall the cabinet just like Steve did on the video my only problem with this was seeing where the tabs in the frame were located so that the slots in the cabinet would fit over top of frame tabs I used a flash light in one hand and lowered the cabinet down I held the light on the frame tabs and the slots in cabinet fit right in then lowered cabinet to the rear frame tabs where i just had to push slightly on the sides of cabinet and it fit right in.Next i pushed the back panel in place and on the top of washer just like in video reinstalled both spring clip clamps and the console and reinstalled the two screws. I plugged in the washer put drain hose back in drain pushed washer back in place turned it on working great now ! Thank You so much for your help Dan.

burned oven bulb

The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new ligh t bulb in was not the problem.

drilled a 7/16 diameter hole directly in the center of the two mounting holes filed it square big enough so as the spring tip fits thru now the door closes on the spring which actuates the switch looks and works perfect.

Googled dryer won't start! From information on the Parts Select website, I determined it was possibly the dryer door switch. Checked the dryer to confirm status of door switch and found it broken! Ordered part and received it within 2 days (actually ordered on a Sunday and it shipped on Monday with receipt on Wednesday. Unpluged the drye r. Used information from Parts select website to remove two screws from vent filter, used screwdriver to pop the top of dryer at each front corner, removed two long screws from the old switch and replaced the broken actuator on the switch with the new actuator received from Parts Select. Note: It was easier to remove old switch with the wires removed from terminals (just pull off), replacing the wires after securing the switch and actuator back in place. Piece of cake, wife happy, received her king of the roost reward :>)) This is also a good time to clean the lint filter area and the hoses to prevent one of those 16,000 annual dryer fires!!!

The dryer just stopped after a new load of clothes was put in. It appeared to be a power problem as there were not warnings, it just stopped. After checking the power, I suspected it was an electrical interlock problem. After nosing around, I traced the power to the dryer door interlock. Sure enough the switch was fine, but the mechan ical lever was worn away. After Googling around for a replacement I found PartSelect.Com. Found the part, ordered it, and I am back in business. My wife is not happy though, as she wanted a new dryer:)

First I popped open the top of the dryer so I could see the part. I removed two screws from inside the door that hold the spring lever and switch together. I removed the spring lever which is also like a bracket that holds the switch in place. Put the spring lever back in place over the switch and reinserted the two screws. Done in ab out 10 minutes.

Dryer would not turn on, found metal clip in laundry

The dryer door has a switch hidden inside the machine housing. The switch has a lever that protrudes and when the door it closed it hits this lever allowing the dryer to activate.

*** Unplug machine ****

To replace: pulled out the lint trap, remove 2 screws under the lint trap. Pry the top open at the front (it's pre ss fit in place and will pry open with a flat screwdriver).

Lift lid up and prop open (like the hood of a car). Find the switch at the front of the machine just above the drum. Remove 2 screws holding the switch in place (from just inside the drum area). Pull off the broken clip bracket, replace with new one and screw it back into place. Be careful not to drop the screws or bracket or they will fall into the bottom and you may never see them again. I can't stress this enough!!

Let the lid down and give it a good rap on the front to seat it back into place, replace the 2 screws under the lint trap. Replace the lint trap. And your done.
