Replaced the cap over the door switch so when the door closed the switch was engaged

Googled dryer won't start! From information on the Parts Select website, I determined it was possibly the dryer door switch. Checked the dryer to confirm status of door switch and found it broken! Used information from Parts select website to remove two screws from vent filter, used screwdriver to pop the top of dryer at each front corner, removed two long screws from the old switch and replaced the broken actuator on the switch with the new actuator received from Parts Select. Note: It was easier to remove old switch with the wires removed from terminals (just pull off), replacing the wires after securing the switch and actuator back in place. Piece of cake, wife happy, received her king of the roost reward :>)) This is also a good time to clean the lint filter area and the hoses to prevent one of those 16,000 annual dryer fires!!!

The Door Swith Acuator Spring was broken. I unplugged the dryer. Removed the two screws on the top control panel. Lifted the top of the dryer and propped it up. Read more e two screws that hold the switch just enough to remove the actuator. You do not have to completely remove the screws. Slip in the new actuator and reverse the process. Voila ... you have a new dryer and a very happy better half. I was given a kitchen pass to play golf and savor some "spirit" water.

Advice: Don't slam the dryer door. The actuator will last longer.

First I popped open the top of the dryer so I could see the part. I removed two screws from inside the door that hold the spring lever and switch together. I removed the spring lever which is also like a bracket that holds the switch in place. Put the spring lever back in place over the switch and reinserted the two screws. Done in ab ... Loosened two screws in back top of drier and pulled forward and up to hinge top of drier and allow access to door switch.Took out broken actuator spring and replaced with new one,snapped lid back in place and put screws back in hinges and job was done.

The dryer door has a switch hidden inside the machine housing. The switch has a lever that protrudes and when the door it closed it hits this lever allowing the dryer to activate.

Lift lid up and prop open (like the hood of a car). Find the switch at the front of the machine just above the drum. Remove 2 screws holding the switch in place (from just inside the drum area). Pull off the broken clip bracket, replace with new one and screw it back into place. Be careful not to drop the screws or bracket or they will fall into the bottom and you may never see them again. I can't stress this enough!!

Let the lid down and give it a good rap on the front to seat it back into place, replace the 2 screws under the lint trap. Replace the lint trap. And your done.

I losened the two screws under the flap covering the filter or lint screen. With the screws removed the entire top of the dryer slides forward and hinges up allowing access to the door switch. same as I described above. However i was amazed when the part showed up the very next day...I was expecting maybe 3 or so days later. I wiil absolutely use PartSelect in the future.

Very easy to repair remove top of dryer and took out to screws and put switch back in place replaced screws and put top back on. Easy!!

Took top of d then dryer loose then replaced switch actuator put dryer top back in place. Not that hard.

I first noticed that the tab of the door switch snapped off so the safety on/off switch did not work when the door was closed. I temporarily taped the switch closed so I could use the dryer. I thought it might be a damaged switch but when I removed it I noticed a metal clip that was attached to it was broken. The pin on the door pushes against this clip when the door is closed which in turn opens the circuit on the switch. I looked up the model on this website and viewed the parts diagram. 1) Using a Phillips head screwdriver, the two screws retaining the hinge pin to the lid were removed. 2) Remove hinge pin and tilt lid slightly to gain access to bushing hole. 3)Install new bushing in hole. 4)Reposition lid.
