11031312020 Kenmore Washer - Instructions

Removed two screws to remove guard. Two screws to remove another part with wires. Pulley nut was already missing. Component was twist locking tabs.

Removed Back and top of digit front. removed water intake valve part order new part replacing was a breeze

It easily installed with a twist lock removal and installation. 2 minute fix.

Tip washer on its front removed belt guard and belt. Removed shift actuator. Put new actuator on, put belt and guard back on, put back panels on and it was fixed.

Ordered drain hose extender. It uses a rubber flange with hose clip to attach to washer's plastic hose. When tightened, the hose clip crushes the plastic hose and crimps it, causing a leak. My solution was to find a copper pipe flange that was the same diameter as the interior of the plastic hose to act as a bushing for the plastic hose. ... Read more The hose clip could then be tightened without deforming the hose. Worked great with no leaks.

Per the instructions on the website, I:
1. Disconnected AC Power, turned off the water supply and disconnected the water and drain hoses from the rear of the washer.
2. Laid the washer front side down to access the bottom of the washer.
3. Remove the Pulley Guard ( 2 nuts.)
4. Removed the Shift Actuator Assembly (2 ... Read more philips screws.)
5. Disconnected the electrical connector from the assembly.
6. Remove faulty Actuator and replace with replacement part.
7. Install the Pulley cover lift washer upright, reconnect water supply hoses and drain tubing, plug washer in and tested.

Problem is resolved, saved almost $250 by doing it myself!

Replaced each hose. Did discover that either hose can be used for hot or cold water lines. No longer required to label hot and cold replacement hoses.

I used a small flat head screwdriver inserted into slots just under the cap and pried off the cap. The cap should come off very easy.
Replace with the new cap.

Spin indicator light was illuminated but machine was repeating rinse cycle rather than spinning water out of clothes. Replaced the pulley and drive coupler, thinking there was a mechanical problem. The problem turned out to be a failure in the control panel, probably resulting from years of vibration. Decided to stop chasing my tail and bought a new washer.

I was sent the wrong part , when I questioned them said they did not have it so was directed to Whirlpool and they are making it and I might get it in May

Popped the cap , used a socket to unscrew the bolt (it was stripped so ended up having to cut off bolt) Took off old impellar and replaced, installed a new bolt, replaced Cap and it was fixed.

Having been out of the business for quite a few years I thought that I was dealing with a direct drive machine. Thinking that it was the motor coupler. Read more en Transmission pulley loose on the shaft. The splines on the pulley were pretty well worn but I tightened the nut and it worked okay. But I ordered a pulley and replaced after it's arrival. The motor capacitor also broke it's mount off so I had to rehang it with zip ties and repaired the wires to the Capacitor, (Which BTW had about 22 gauge wire). I found it hard to believe that they would use such small wire.

At first I had to position the washer so I could get access.. after having it positioned, I figured it out. Getting the clamp fastened, I was done.

Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver.
