After turning off water to icemaker, defective control removed (two screws) and new unit installed.Worked perfectly.I was totally amazed when I ordered the part thursday afternoon and it arrived fridaY morning.Total time out of operation less than 24 hours.Wonderful results.

Pretty much followed the how to video. Biggest pain was removing the screws to the bracket that houses the motor.

Having read a few of the user reports like this one gave me the confidence to do this repair. So the first "test" resulted in still having a noisy fan motor because it was shaking around a bit. But, taking it back out and using the screws that came with the new motor did the trick. The refrigerator is now whisper quiet all the time. I also appreciated the conversion wiring harness in the kit that was simply plug and play for this new motor to my old refrigerator.

Unplug A C Cord . Simply unscrewed lower back cardboard cover panel and unscrewed condenser fan motor , removed wiring plug , pulled fan motor out removed fan blade and put it on new motor . then I Reinstalled motor. Noise is gone . EASY INSTALLATION .

Disconnected power cord, removed rear cover of refrigerator, disconnected pig tail, removed 4 housing screws, took three mount screws out and removed old fan. Reversed steps, plugged in and complete repair done.

Using a 1/4" ratchet removed the old motor, a bit difficult due to small space to get your hand and ratchet in position. I determined it was the cutter grid because there was a broken wire on the existing one. They have to heat up and cut the ice. I ordered it and the part was at my house in 1 day. The cutter grid part was easy to install. The ice maker is working great now.

Had repair man out to make repair his price for part $219.00 and $271.00 labor as he was looking up his price I got on line and found part here for $121.00 thought it might take me 1 hour to fix only 6- 1/4" nuts 2 screws and less than 30 min I had Ice maker working. what I discovered is the condenser fan is still operating but not strong another word insufficient cooling for the condenser. therefore, it's getting too hot and shutting off and stripped the circuit breaker. Read more ack cover and there you see compressor, condenser fan and other good stuff. there you unscrew the nut in front of the condenser fan and remove the fan, then it expose the two screws that holding the fan motor, remove these screws and take out the motor. and just install the new fan motor kit in and there you have it. plug it back to the wall and there it goes

I've tried ordering the part from Sears and they told me it will take about 7 days for the part to arrive, some other place said it will overnite for extra money. So I've ordered the part from Part Select at a good price and prompt delivery. once the part arrive installing the part so so easy cause it had easy to follow instructions.

I watched the film on installing and taking out. Step by step. easy.

Repair was so simple, I didn't even need instructions. Removed old fan with motor, installed new one, installed harness that converted plugs, done. Saved hundreds of dollars doing the repair myself.
