106831 Kenmore Freezer - Instructions

Pull refrigerator out to access back, unplug unit and remove the 3 .25" screws cut the power leads to motor and install new with easy to understand instructions provided with new motor. Plug refrigerator back in and enjoy your cold beverages once more. EASIEST REPAIR EVER.

Removed all the adjustable shelves inside the door. Removed the top hinge cover (1 nut). then the top hinge bracket (3 nuts). The door doesn't weight very much so you shouldn't have to worry about the door just falling off after you remove the top hinge. then simply lift the door off the bottom hinge and carefully lay it down. One nu ... Read more t in each of the plastc cams on the bottom of the door and an easy swap out with the new parts. A little vaseline one at least one of the surfaces of the cam, reverse the order and simply put things back together and your good to go. Door closes on its own like new. You might as well get both parts for the lower cam and swap them out simultaniously since you have the door off. PLEAS NOTE: Yes there are two different parts for this repair.

took all items out of the door, used a wrench to undue the bolts, pulled the door off and placed the new part on the bottom of the door. kept the other new parts that came with the one I needed. very simple

Pulled out the refrigerator and removed the two panels from the rear of the refrigerator. Removed the fan held in by four screws and unplugged the connector. Soldered on the original connector, installed the fan to the motor and re-installed the unit into the refrigerator. Then blew out and vaccumed the condenser coils.

Removed rear cover to see non-operating fan - removed three mounting screws on the motor that were a challenge to access. Swapped fan from old motor onto new motor - one threaded nut on the motor shaft. The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new ligh ... When I investigated online @ Part Select, they had all of the parts shown on schematics of each section of the refrigerator/freezer (side by side)with part numbers shown. It was easy to find the necessary parts.The cam kit came as a package for both doors and cost $12.00 plus ship ... Read more ping. Installation instructions were included.It took me an kour to make the repair. The hardest part was removing all the condiments from the shelves and remembering from which shelf they had to be returned. Net savings $200.00

I followed the video instructions available on the net. Hardest part of the job was getting up off the floor after I disconnected the water line. I'm 90 years old

Unscrewed old broken part from the kickplate and attempted to install the new clip. Mounting screws would not go into the new clip. Had to drill out the mounting holes in the plastic clip using a #30 drill bit. Once the new clip was mounted, attempted to snap the kickplate back in place. Unfortunately at the left side the kickplate would ... Read more not fully mate with the metal clip on the refrigerator body and would not snap all the way back to the refrigerator front surface, as the right side does. At least the kickplate doesn't fall down onto the floor on the left side as it did before. I suspect there is an alignment problem with the left side refrigerator metal clip, but have not pursued that yet.

This whole process took less than 10 minutes and completely fixed the problem. The service visit would have cost upwards of $80.00 so this was well worth the two days shipping i paid for.

Like most have stated this is a simple job. Nut-driver and six screws (on mine). Less than ten minutes. Like someone else said the hardest part was unloading the door.

Removed the door, installed the lower cam & re-installed the door. Diagram & parts list correct. An easy repair.
