1068134721 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

The repair was very easy. I ordered the part from Part Seelect and the delivery was very quick.
Opened the box and took out the new ice maker. Emptied the freezer, turned off the power and the water to the Refigerator / Freezer / Iceww Maker. Used a quarter inch nut driver to remove the old ice make. Really easy remove one scre ... Read more w and lewsen two ther screws. unplugged the wiring harness. Took the bale arm off old unit and installed it on the new unit. Check to make sure I had the right wiring harness installed on the ic make which it was. Installed and leveled the new unit. in a little over a hour I had ice. Had to make a few adjustments to the water level setting to make sure all ice cube trays filled up completely.

So easy to do a cave man could do it.

removed the three screws holding the old ice maker in place - unpluged the electronics .... took the new ice maker pluged in the electronics screwed in into place and we were in business and had ice within an hour.

It actually took me longer to think about the repair than actually doing it. It was three screws, two upper that you just loosen and then one on the bottom that you remove. Great experience all the way through. I'm a customer for life.

I used a phillips screw driver, took the old one off, replaced the new one and it worked immediately!!! Didn't have to turn anything off...fixed in 5 minutes for $11. Fantastic Experience and my husband was shocked. No repairman bill.

Ordered new ice maker from this site . Installation was very easy. Was happy to see that many electrical plugs were included. Chose the correct electrical plug and installed in 30 minutes. put arm up to stop icemaker from creating new ice cubes. us nut driver to unscrew 3 of the nuts holding icemaker in place do not completely remove the 2 top screws. lift off the screws and unplug from inside wire connection...make sure water tub is removed and frig unplugged. clean off ice anywhere inside freezer...take out new icemake ... Read more r and connect wire plug...attach icemaker on to the 2 top screws...use nut driver to tighten into place. add and tighten bottom screw...leave arm down...replace clean and dried water tube into back and make sure it slid into ice maker...tighten screws in back and attatch water hose to tube...plug frid back on slide back into place...will start making ice in an hr or so....

We followed the video on the KitchenAid website. We turned off water valve at the wall, unplugged the refrigerator, removed the old icemaker by unscrewing the three mounting screws. Read more er and installed it on the new icemaker. The new icemaker fit perfectly. We plugged in the electric wire to the existing power cord at the back of the refrigerator freezer compartment. We placed the new icemaker in the same position as the old, making sure the mounting screw holes were aligned. Plugged refrigerator back in and turned on the water. Works beautifully.

Turn off the water source and unplug freezer. Remove copper tube and then remove valve from back of refrigerator. Disconnect plastic tube and power connection. Mark power connection plug top with a "T", this reminder helps with the new valve. Plug power and plastic tube into new valve and screw assembly back into refrigerator. Using a ... Read more wrench, connect copper tube into valve. Restore water source and plug back in in freezer. Within a couple hours, ice production was back.
Like the other repair stories (that helped me), this job was very easy.

I loosened the two screws on which the ice makers hangs and removed the third screw toward the back. I lifted the icemaker a bit and removed the part and unplugged the unit at rear. I reversed the process to install the new one. All very simple.

I removed the 2 screws on top and the one screw underneath holding the Ice Maker to the wall of freezer.I pulled the electrical connection from the wall next (wiggled it back and forth until it came out).
I matched it up to the picture from this site and ordered the replacement unit.

A good tip is to keep the old unit so you can configure the new unit the same. Although it was easy, this took me the longest of the entire job. Once this was done, it took me !0 minutes to plug the new unit into my fridge and then attach it back to the wall with the 3 screws.Not a hard job.Thanks

First I turned off water supply. Then removed the two screws that attach ice maker, then disconnected the wiring harness.

Attached new ice maker in reverse order.

Removed the old ice maker (2 screws, about 2 minutes). Read the excellent instructions. Prepped the replacement unit by adding the mount bracket. It plugged straight into the existing fridge wiring harness. Amazing how standardized icemakers are! Total time for a very careful job was under an hour.

By going on line and going to PartsSelect, the check out procedures traced the problem to the start/overload relay. Using a nut driver, I removed the back panel and using their instruction, I installed the overload relay. On the next to the last step on the instruction, the sealer in the kit was already hardened. The whole experience with PartsSelect was great.
