106794 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

I just removed the unit and replaced the mold/'heater with the new one and re-installed. It was very easy and didn't have to turn off the refer. or empty the frozen food.
However , there were not instruction that came with the mold/heater unit. I had no problem but other do-in-uselfers may need some basic instructons

I loosened the two screws on which the ice makers hangs and removed the third screw toward the back. I lifted the icemaker a bit and removed the part and unplugged the unit at rear. I reversed the process to install the new one. All very simple.

We followed the video on the KitchenAid website. We turned off water valve at the wall, unplugged the refrigerator, removed the old icemaker by unscrewing the three mounting screws. We unplugged old icemaker from electrical source at back of refrigerator freezer compartment and removed it. We detached the on/off bar from the old icemak ... Read more er and installed it on the new icemaker. The new icemaker fit perfectly. We plugged in the electric wire to the existing power cord at the back of the refrigerator freezer compartment. We placed the new icemaker in the same position as the old, making sure the mounting screw holes were aligned. Plugged refrigerator back in and turned on the water. Works beautifully.

Lower the filter cover on the refrigerator, twist the old filter to remove it, install the new filter by pushing and twisting it, and close the filter door.
Using a pitcher, run water through the new filter until the excess carbon leavings are out then the water is clear and is drinkable

Just open the filter and put it in the slot

That 1 Phillips screw out push up disconnect electrical plug put new one in by going in the opposite way.

At first ordered the wrong part. Using the website was difficult to find the correct part, but once I called, it was pretty easy to find the part needed. Part showed up and install was only a few minutes. No more leaking!

Ordered new ice maker from this site . Installation was very easy. Was happy to see that many electrical plugs were included. Chose the correct electrical plug and installed in 30 minutes. It actually took me longer to think about the repair than actually doing it. It was three screws, two upper that you just loosen and then one on the bottom that you remove. Read more ched the bottom set screw and I was making ice. Incredibly easy. When I ordered the replacement unit they said it would arrive in 3-5 days, but it only took a day and a half. Great experience all the way through. I'm a customer for life.

Originally I took the module off and found that a small plastic part had broken. Both pieces were still there, so I super glued them together and reassembled the unit. removed the three screws holding the old ice maker in place - unpluged the electronics .... took the new ice maker pluged in the electronics screwed in into place and we were in business and had ice within an hour.

The repair was very easy. I ordered the part from Part Seelect and the delivery was very quick.
Opened the box and took out the new ice maker. Emptied the freezer, turned off the power and the water to the Refigerator / Freezer / Iceww Maker. Took the bale arm off old unit and installed it on the new unit. Check to make sure I had the right wiring harness installed on the ic make which it was. Installed and leveled the new unit. in a little over a hour I had ice. Had to make a few adjustments to the water level setting to make sure all ice cube trays filled up completely.

So easy to do a cave man could do it.

The light rocker switch wasnt working. I found the part on the web site. It was so easy. I used a screw driver to pop out the old one and pop the new one in. It took 5 min. Thanks!!!

First I removed the (3) screws holding the unit to the side of freezer wall with a nutdriver. Then I disconnect the Harness from the back of the freezer. You have to work the Harness off connector because it was very tight. The Unit came with the correct harness installed so I reconnected the harness to the Freezer and replaced the (3) sc ... Read more rews. I had ice in about 2.5 hours.

I removed the switch housing (4 screws), replacing the switch in the housing was a snap. It took 5 minutes, cost $8 and light works like new!

Why didn't I order this part and do the repair earlier? Very simple.
