1066674521 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

My husband took the plastic cover off and took out old bulb and screwed in the new one. Then put the cover back on.

Took out icemaker,it had been letting in too much water, foynd switch was not working anymore, ordered new one from PartSelect, got it in a few days,took icemaker out put new switch in & it is working like new. Screwed in light bulb and glass protector

Fridge has a top freezer. I unplugged the fridge and removed the lower panel in the back. I removed the two screws that hold the valve bracket to frame of fridge in lower right corner (facing fridge from back). I then disconnected the modular wiring plug and both the water supply and the hose to the icemaker.

Read more ug to the new part, reconneced the hose to the icemaker and reattached the bracket with the two screws into the frame of the fridge. finally, i reconnected the water supply and plugged in the fridge. In a few hours the icemaker was working like new. I figure i save about $100 or more by not having to call a repairman and it was easier than I had expected.

Looked up the part and found it on PartSelect. I was exactly like the same as the part I had to replace, there for I didn't have to make any new adjustments to the part to fit. I pulled down the wire around the glass cover. . . Released on end of the wire from its holder being careful to not let the glass cover drop. Unscrewed the bulb and replaced with replacement. Easy, easy.

Part # had been replaced with another timer. Original timer had 2 wires coming out of it. Replacement only had 1 wire. Instructions showed 2 options for where to place the wire. I chose option 2 and I guess I was right. Installation took less than 15 minutes and refridge is back to normal. (Quiet)

Well I could what laid on the floor and replaced it but I didn't I emptied refrigerator laid it over change the motor then stood it back up actual work about three hours

The video of the repair is a helpful guide, but my refrigerator has the compressor very close to the condenser fan motor. With the compressor comes the copper tubing that is all in the way. I had to carefully bend them now and then to allow me to get my hands in position. The how to is easy, but the working with tools in cramped quarters ... Read more was difficult. I think my Maytag side by side model makes for this job to be difficult, maybe yours may not be so bad. I took a couple of hours to complete. After the first hour, I covered the bare wires, and plugged the frig back in so it could do some cooling. I placed a small in front on the condenser to blow across it. Had a little break, then finished the job.

The refrig. Is about 30 years old. The new solenoid looked and mounted nothing like the original. I driled holes in the frig and attach the solenoid with sheet metel screws. There were not enough fittings and hoses so I bought a braded metal hose to attach the ro line and the valve inlet. I used the parts in the kit to attach the ... Read more water feed line. To the ice maker I did not try to stuff all the hoses and lines back into the cramped cavity in the frig. W ell how does it look? The solenoid sticks out a little and there are a lot of hoses behind the frig. I do not spend much time behind the frig so who cares. The ice maker is making ice!

removed condenser fan -located behind refrigerator next to compressor, Not much clearance to work, there are 3 screws to remove from condensing motor,sounds easy but clearance is lacking to remove them ,(takes alot of PATIENCE).
