The Defrost Timer is located in Refrigerator section (not the freezer) where your temperture guages are. Move panel and replace the non working Defrost Timer with the new one. Read more d new in 1996 and I lost the manuel to it. Thanks to my daughter who found the Defrost Timer on the Internet, I thought I was going to have to buy a new one. This was real easy to fix. The instructions that came with the part was easy to understand and very self explanatory. It also had very good diagrams to follow.

I watched the demo on how to replace the ice marker and it was that simple. I removed three screws and unplugged it from the freezer. The difficult part was removing the wire on, off switch. You must pull it out carefully. It is a sung fit.

first confirm that freezer is cold. if is frozen solid it needs to be defrosted. take the freezer items out,take shelf out, bottom cover, 2 screws. then ice maker, 3 screws and unplug wires. then back panel 2 screws. Read more iver and turn clockwise till it stops. this action will turn on your defroster, also the compressor will stop. is the heater melting the ice? if so soak up water and clean tray, use hair dryer in drain hole to aid in the defrost, check tray under fridge and if its dry keep defrosting. it should take half an hour. now take the flat head screw driver and turn the defrost timer clock wise out of defrost mode a quarter turn or so. the compressor should come back on, soon after the fan in the freezer compartment should also come on. this steps lets you no that the defrost heater works, fan works and drain hole is clear. if its defrosted place parts back in the reverse order. if not defrosted replace heater or mother board. in refrigerator compartment were the dials are located their are 2 screws, one on the left and the other on the right side take them out, the cover will drop down, you will find wiring schematics you will need them to install defrost timer. is timer making ticking sound? if no replace timer. new timer will be different from original so follow instructions that come with it. timer is above were the hole is located. the plastic hold downs will break when you try to take them off, unplug fridge, lift timer out and remove from wire harness. the new timer has a black wire that slips over either 1 or 2 depending on color of wire on the wire harness. check schematics. some silicone adhesive will keep unit in place, ad some into the plastic shaft prior to installation, plug wire harness return wiring instruction along with new one inside of cover, plug in fridge, turn defrost timer clock wise with flat head screw driver making sure that you hold timer from above so it wont move. did compressor come on?. put all paper work inside of cover before installing cover

Removal was easy...Removing and installing arm was a bit difficult...Called a service man to install...He also had a bit of difficulty, but had it done in less than 45 minutes... He mentioned that my brackets had a different set up than most...

Easy removel: remove one screw and loosen two others; unplug connector; swap actuator bar; replace

Removed bottem screw and loosened two top screws. Removed icemaker from support screws and disengaged cable. Replaced in reverse order. Total time was about 15 minutes.

Great DIY experience. Ordering the part was easy and delivery was very fast. Simple installation and had my first cubes in apprximately 15 minutes.

Turn off water, removed two mounting screws, unplugged solenoid, removed incoming water connection and plastic pipe to ice maker. Installed new valve, connected water lines, reconnected plug, remounted with screws. Turned water back on, over rode power to ice maker and checked for leaks. Total time about 5 minutes. Very easy repair.

Removed the old ice maker and replaced with new.

Unbelievable experience. Ordered on Friday received on Saturday. Removed three nuts with a nutdriver, unplugged the old icemaker, plugged in the new one and replaced the three nuts. I went from order to ice in the bucket in about 24 hours. Thanks

First I removed one screw that hold the element in place, lifted element about half an inch. I then pulled the element out about 2-3 inches and disconnected the wire. Then replaced two clips on top of element and re-connected the wire, put screw back and VUALYA....done!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I undid two top screws and one bottom screw. The tools came out of my cheapo walmart tool kit. I disconnected the power connector. I then put the new Icemaker in and waited for ICE. 12 hours later still no ice. I contacted Parts Select and before I knew it an new Icemaker was ordered and delivered to my doorstep. I received several emails ... Read more to confirm the refund and re-billing of icemaker. I was absolutly astonished by how well they responded. I figured weeks after the first replacement came in DOA but two days later I had Ice and all was well.

Removed three srews holding the ice maker in place. Unplugged the wiring. Plugged in new ice maker wiring. Installed the new ice maker with the three screws. I left the old wiring in place. Works perfectly.

Lossen two screws at the top and remove one at the bottom and lift the unit off of the top screws, unplug the old unit and after cutting out the tray for the water fill spout plug the new one in. No problem .................

I viewed the video that was provided on partselect.com. The video was very instrumental in the removal and installation of the ice maker. I removed the old ice maker and installed the new ice marker, turn the water valve back on and had ice within 24 hours. So I determined that the ice maker needed to run though a cycle, which took several hours, before it actually started making ice. With the video I was able to change the ice maker in less than a half an hour.
