1065156 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

I removed the ice maker which required removing 3 screws and then disconnecting the electrical plug. Once the ice maker was out, I removed the 3 screws that held the motor assembly to the unit.
I removed the motor, replacing it with the new one.
Plugged the power supply cord back in, replaced the unit with the 3 screws and with ... Read more in a few minutes the unit was receiving water and by the next day I had ICE. This saved me $50. for the service call, then another $25.00 installation fee when the part came in (had to be ordered) plus the markup on the motor (approx. $25.00) So I saved approx. $100. and only took about 30 min.

1. turn off power.
2. pop off ice maker cover to access motor assembly.
3. remove three screws to assembly.
4. pull off assembly.
5. attach new assembly making sure metal arm and plastic
ice tray rod align with assembly.
6. screw assembly onto unit.
7. replace cover.

While looking for parts I read the advice on you web site under the ice maker parts. I also had problems reading the LED codes. They would change each time I unplugged the refrig and powered up. First I called a repair man to diagnos the problem. He said it was the starter relay and gave me a quote for $300.
I looked online and found the part at PartSelect for $55 delivered.

Read more tricity was off, I cut the wiring to the starter relay. After pulling back the wire casing and reconnecting to the new started relay the compressor turned back on and the fridge started cooling again within about an hour.
This took roughly 30 minutes to complete and saved me around $250!

We weren't sure if the problem was in the Water Inlet Valve or in the Icemaker Control & Motor Assembly. The water in the door did work. We removed the Water Inlet Valve & tested it with an Ohm Meter. It tested good so we put it back in. We then ordered the Icemaker Control & Motor Assembly. We telephoned a parts store and were told the problem could be the thermostat or we could replace the whole icemaker. We replaced the whole icemaker.

It was easy to snap off the old shelf and snap in the new. The price was right. The part was right. If I need to, I'll be back.

Unplugged power cord from the wall outlet
I removed the back cover using a 1/4 nut driver. Removed the two wires, one went to the starter driver the other to the overload protection. Unplugged the part from the compressor.Plugged in new part and re-attached the two wires replaced cover and plugged in power back in to the wall outlet

It was simply a matter of removing the old filter housing unit by unscrewing 3 screws and unplugging the two water tubes. After re-insterting the water tubing and securing the housing unit "VOILA" good as new..It really was easy..

Replaced the door cam on bottom of fridge door. First I unplugged the frig, and turned offed the water and ice dispenser using the on/off panel switch. I removed the panel by inserting a small flat blade screwdriver at the bottom of the panel where the plastic studs locked the panel in place. Just make sure that the plunger on the ice dispenser makes solid contact with the switch when depressed.

Replacement of the parts involves the removal of three screws on each component and disconnecting a wire harness on each component. Install the new components by following the removal process in reverse. The total cost was $80.00. This was half the price Sears wanted for the parts and about the same price to have a Sears repairman just show up at the house.

I found many helpful tips and pdf instructions online, removed the back of the refrigerator can remove the compressor relay. I ordered a new compressor relay or start relay kit, followed the instructions and put the new compressor relay in. Refrigerator is working great...

All we had to do was remove the icemaker, take off the side with a screwdriver, replace the part and slide it back in. We had ice in hours! DISCONNECT POWER. Removed all shelves/baskets.Popped upper panel off (just clips in) Removed 6 screws in lower back panel ( 3 each side) slid panel in place but down. i have gotten parts from partselect before, foung model # & looked up on there web,found it, ordered,and received next day, pulled plate off of front, removed screws undone clip & and replaced part works find very good company to deal with
