106513 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed freezer cover from ice maker, unplugged the harness. Installed the new ice maker assembly,plugged in two wire harness and secured the part and cover.
Results was smooth process, no noice from ice dispenser. Pleased with results. Saved on repairs. Thanks Tom

Remove back side cardboard access cover. About 6 dcrews need to be removed. Remove 9/16” bolt and lower compressor tray frame down to slide out wheel axel. Place wheel in slot and replace axel. Lift compressor tray and replace 9/16” bolt. Replace cardboard cover. Remove 2x4.

Unplug refrigerator.
Pry switch out with putty knife
Remove two wires from switch
Attach wires to new switch
Push new switch into slot

Removed the 2 screws holding the light bulb shield, then the 4 uolding the metal panel. Unplugged the olw door switch and replaced.
reassembled the pieces.

At first I went to a local part supplier and they didn't have it in stock but could order it for me for $55.00 plus $10.00 to ship it. I told them I would have to think about it. Ordered gasket through this site pulled old gasket off, because my conquest had no screws on lining, Put new gasket on top and bottom first and kind of forced the edges into groove using heat gun cause gave me a little problem. But overall, it worked to perfection! Now to buy other gasket for refrigerator door!

I ordered two new ones from partselect.com. I figured if I was replacing the one for the refrigerator door I might as well do the freezer door too.

Read more he slot. You need strong hands to do this. Once I heard them click in, they guided themselves the rest of the way. Once they are on, check to make sure they touch the frame of the door. My freezer was perfect, but the refrigerator had an area of 25 inches that did not touch the frame. I called partselect.com and they sent out another new gasket for the refrigerator door. (I had to pay for this one but was told once I mailed in the defective one, they would credit me the cost of the returned one) I took off the bad gasket and installed the 2nd new gasket and that one was perfect.

Easy repair, third time in four months, same part. I don't recommend Whirlpool refer's. Stick to the washer and dryers.

Steps to replace Whirlpool evaporator fan motor
1. Watch numerous DIY Youtube videos
2. Move frozen food to refrigerator section, close refrigerator door
3. Cut power to refrigerator
4. Remove all shelves and bins in freezer section
5. Back panel has two parts, a top and a bottom section
6. Unclip small shrou ... Read more d covering screw bolt in upper left corner holding top panel. Remove screw bolt
7. Gently pull and work top panel out
8. Remove screw bolts from all four corners in lower panel and remove bottom panel
9. Verify power has been turned off
10. Unclip grounding wire
11. Unclip evaporator fan motor from power
12. Remove whole cradle holding evaporator fan motor. Note orientation of cradle. Fan blade is slightly angled toward the back of freezer. In other models, the cradle may not be removeable.
13. Remove plastic fan with firm pull
14. Unclip bottom brace to remove evaporator fan motor
15. Replace old grommets in bottom brace and on top of evaporator fan motor with the new grommets
16. Install new evaporator in cradle and clip-in the bottom brace
17. Install new fan blade on motor
18. Place cradle with new evaporator fan motor back in freezer
19. Reclip power and ground wire
20. Turn on power and test if working correctly
21. Turn off power
22. Complete steps from 8 to 2 in reverse

I added an icemaker kit. Everything I needed was in the kit. The refrigerator was presetup for an icemaker it was just never added. The only problem I had was that the holes for attaching the water solenoid were not pre drilled so I had to drill them myself and use sheet metal screws. The icemaker is working great.

I used the computer to enter the make and model of the refrigerator with the icemaker unit. We looked at the diagram to identify the name of the part and then ordered it. It was sent out the next day! We received it and installed it and it works perfect!

Googled "intermittent clicking noise" or something similar and consensus was it was either the capacitor or compressor start relay. You-tubed videos on how to replace these. Looked easy. Just unplug them from the condenser and replace. Contacted Part Select and staff said 50% of the the time it was the capacitor, 50% of the time it wa ... Read more s the relay. I was in a time crunch so I ordered both and they came in a couple of days. I replaced the capacitor but the clicking noise continued. I replaced the relay and problem solved! Maybe I could have gotten away with just replacing the relay, but I had them both by then and figured with a 10 year old fridge, better replace them both at the same time and be done with the problem. So far, so good.

Watched video. Unplugged refrigerator and popped out switch. In plugged connector and pushed switch in place. Plugged in refrigerator and the light worked

This is an easy fix. The hardest part was just determining which part to replace. But the Q&A's for the ice maker from this site steered me right. And their video on how to install was easy to follow. The only difference I found was my Whirlpool had only 2 electrical connectors instead of the 3 in the video. I finished the job in about ... No repair needed. Just inserted the storage bin onto the hooks provided on the inside of the door.
