i followed the online instructions on how to take the icemaker apart, which were very easy to follow. The repair was simple.

I first did a diagnosis of the optical cuircuits and found them good. The tray heated up and when resetting the moor controller, the water cyccled to fill the tray so the only other thing it could be was the motor controller.

pulled the icemaker unit out and unplugged the unit
removed the motor controller end cap
unscrewed 3 screws holding the motor controller
removed and replaced the motor controller. ensured that all wire harness connector poiints were solid
reverse the above instructions and in 5 hours I was getting ice again!

$90 turned out to be a savings from the $250 it would have cost to have someone come out and look at the fridge.

I highly recommend to anyone who can read and use a screwdriver to perform this repair if you have diagnosed this as the root of your problem!

The bearing & cup assembly was broken and the gears in the drive assy were stripped. Unfortunately I couldn't find anywhere to buy the gears without buying the entire motor assy with the gear box already on it. Cost was up to $85 with shipping but at least it now works fine.

Read more elow ice maker and all you need to do is loosen the 2 screws above the ice maker then push it upward slightly and it will slide off the top 2 screws. Then pull the power connector off from behind the ice maker at the side of the refridge. Then pull straight out and it will slide off the water fill tube. Now with unit out of refridge I took the cover off the front of the ice maker and removed the 3 philip screws. I then pulled the motor/gear assy off from the chassis of the ice maker. I then had to remove the 2 philip screws on the chassis (under the motor/gear assy) to remove the cube maker/element from the chassis. This allowed me to remove the rotating cube spatula bar to replace the filler cup/bearing assy. Then I reinstalled the spatula bar and the 2 philip scews on the chassis to the cube maker/element assy. I then installed the new motor/gear assy to the chassis and installed the 3 remaining philip screws. Put the cover back on the ice maker and inserted assy back into the refridge by first reattaching the power connector and then sliding backward onto the water fill tube and then slipping over the top of the 2 top screws on the refridge. Then I installed the screw below the ice maker and tightened all 3. Presto - repair done in 30 minutes and perfect cubes were spitting out within the hour.

I just removed the unit and replaced the mold/'heater with the new one and re-installed. It was very easy and didn't have to turn off the refer. or empty the frozen food.
However , there were not instruction that came with the mold/heater unit. I had no problem but other do-in-uselfers may need some basic instructons

I removed the icemaker. One screw at the bottom and then unplug the electric. Remove the old motor from the face that has 3 screws holding it. Put the new motor in. A very simple job. I now have a full ice bin by the next morning.

Repair was real easy, I had to remove several screws in the bottom of the icemaker module housing. The unit slide out with no problem there was a wire assembly that hat to be disconnected but this did not present a problem. The old module came out real easy after removing 4 screws and the replacement was not a problem to but in.

Replaced the control of the ice maker assembly.

Removing the ice making assembly from the Ice compartment was not difficult except that two of the 3 screws we not visible without a mirror and then my nut driver was 5" long making it very tight quarters, so it was a time consuming process to remove them.

The next step was to figure out how to remove the faulty part from the rest of the assembly.
After some strong persuasion the part would not separate from the control Assy. (The front of the unit) To complete the job I had to pull the front cover and unplug the motor and heater assy to expose two additional screws that had to be removed to pull the defective part out. The reassembly went quite easy except the 2 screws that you need a mirror to see. I was also trying to hurry because the frozen items were not holding all that well after the door was open for about an hour and a half. An instruction sheet showing the steps would have cut the time over 1/2!

Installed the icemaker control assembly this corrected the problem suspect contacts on the old unit were not making a good contact over time, due to the damp area in the freezer the new unit corrected the repair easy repair.

I first turned off the refrigerator. I then used a hair dryer to melt and release the ice by warming the bottom of the mould. Then I turned the fridge back on and let the icemaker discharge the ice. I then turned off the icemaker and ordered the new part. I unplugged the fridge, removed the icemaker (three screws and an electrical conne ... Read more ction). Then I replaced the heater/tray with the new one and turned everything back on. Within a couple of hours we began having ice again.

Took the front of the ice maker off. Noticed the arm inside was broken, found the part on your site and ordered it.....super fast delivery. Replace the moter assembly and off she went. had ice in about 30 minutes. Thanks for your services and I will highly recommend you to others......Thanks again.

The ice maker had quit before and I fixed it by taking it out to thaw.When it quit working the second time thawing it out didn't do the trick.The dispenser still worked so we were buying bagged ice. During the summer,our electricity had went off several times,so I figured that the icemaker control and motor assembly was the problem. Watched the installation video,and followed the instructions. Used parts diagrams and super glue to piece dispenser lever back together. Wife is happy and we saved $

I played the install video a couple of times to assure myself that it was that easy. The video indicated that I actually had to remove the ice maker it install the motor module but in my case I did not really have to. I simply pulled off the plastic cover plate, removed the 3 phillips head screws and exhanged the new module for the old ... Read more one. I turned the power and water back on and waited for something to happen...nothing did! After about 15 minutes and no noticeable electric or water flow activity I pulled the refrigerator out away from the wall to check the incoming water line and suddenly I heard water flow to the icemaker and within the next hour I had my 1st batch of cubes. Since then everything appears to be working and we have ice cubes for Christmas. All in all it was a pretty easy and inexpensive fix and probably saved me well over a $100.
