Freezer light out and refrigerator lights dim
14 of 16 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Barb from RALEIGH, NC
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers
I was not able to unplug the refrigerator because it is housed in a built-in. I removed the icemaker and following simple instructions from YouTube was able to pry the cover off the existing part. After a few gentle tugs, I disconnected the pinned wires from the old part. Connecting the new part was a little tricky but I managed with a l ittle contorting. As soon as the pins connected the freezer light as well as the refrig lights came on. It took about 15 minutes to complete.

The refrigerator cannot bring down to the desired temperature
14 of 18 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Pit Hoong from Westerville, OH
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

That was due to the evaporator blocked by the ice. Check found the defrost timer is okay. The next thing I can think of is to replace the Electronic Control Board which is installed in the fridge side top compartment. Ply open the face cover, remove the nut and screw that secure the EC Board. Pull out the cable, mount the new card and re- connect. So simple. It is back in order.

The lights went very dim one day. They are LED and have 4 diodes in each light bar. Three went out for the freezer and one went out in the fridge at the same time.

I tried to replace the light in the fridge first but couldn’t get it out (that one has the control board and is very expensive) so a replaced the one in the freezer by prying it off the ceiling. When I plugged the new one in all the other lights came on full power. Strange but I sent the other one back.

  • ROBERT from BUENA PARK, CA
  • Very Difficult
  • More than 2 hours
I bought a new Whirlpool Refrigerator that didn't have an ice maker.
I wanted to install an ice maker. I searched your web site and found the model ice maker model it said I needed. WPW10715709. This one was a 4 wire 8 terminal. I needed a 4 wire flat connector. WPW10715708. You approved the return. It cost me $50 to return it. I bel ieve you should refund me the cost of this postage. Your web site gave me the wrong model number.

Thank you

The led lights on the refrigerator side were dim. The light on the freezer side was out.
12 of 14 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Richard from ACCIDENT, MD
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
I originally ordered the led light control board but when I hooked it up I still had the same problem. My neighbor checked both door switches with a voltmeter and they were both good. I then ordered the light for the freezer and when hooked up the problem was solved. All lights worked. The freezer light has four tabs that allow it to snap into the roof of the freezer. Those tabs can be hard to see because there isn’t much room. I used a mirror to locate the tabs and a small flat tip screwdriver to push the tab over and removed the light.

Scratches in Surface

This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.
