First I removed the oven door from the appliance. Then I placed it on a table and removed the screws from around the edges. First I removed an aluminum heat shield. Then I removed the first of three heat shielding glass viewing panels, followed by the second one by removing even more screws. I carefuly laid the parts out in the oreder ... Read more that I remove them along with their screws. Next I removed the large heat shielding aluminum plate that held the first two glass heat shields. Then removed a layer of insulation. Then I was down to the sheel steal plate that holds the gasket. As a precaution I removed the thick pyrex glass heat shilding viewing panel. Lastly the plate that held the door seal was removed. After removing the old gasket, I carefully placed the new oven door gasket in place. After cleaning all the parts that had been removed, I replaced them one at a time in reverse order. Most of my time was spent cleaning. How ever I was especially impressed with the good condition of the oven door after 20 years of approximately every other day oven use. Thanks

Unplugged the appliance for safety. Removed two 1/4" screws that held the assembly in place. Carefully removed the wire guard that retains the glass shield. Unscrewed old light bulb and replaced with new part. Reversed the steps after cleaning glass cover.

I had to call for a appointment for repair with GE Appliance because I thought then it . .was something electrical. The technician came out & checked everything out, turned out it was not electrical, The technician went out to his truck got a light bulb from his truck, put it in & it worked. First I turned the power off at the breaker box. Then I removed the two screws at the rear of the oven and un-secured the three clips(top of stove) that all hold the element in place. Carefully I pulled the element out of the back of the stove to expose and pull out the electrical wires and their connectors. At this point I used the multi ... Read more meter to CONFIRM no power. With no power present I un-clipped the electrical connections and then did all the above steps in reverse. 15 - 20 minutes total repair time.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Ordered new part on-line for less than 1/2 of local price...including shipping. Local shop would have taken 10 days for part at twice the price. 0. As a safety precaution, unplug the range or hit the relevant fuse breaker before you start. You might also want to grab a flashlight. Definitely do not try to do this while the oven is hot.
1. Pinch the wire over the light bulb cap to remove it. This is inside the oven at the back.
2. Pop off the hemispherical glass cap.
... Read more />3. Unscrew the old light bulb, and screw the new light bulb in its place.
4. Put the cap back.
5. Secure the cap by putting the wire back in its slots on the cap.

No tools needed, the cap is just held in place with pressure from the wire.

Followed instructions on Kenmore site. One point of note. Hold onto the element wires firmly. They will retract behind the oven!!! After contacting an electrician friend who removed unit from the wall and rethreaded the wires, it went just fine.

We had to take the back off the stove and disconnect the old element. One side had bad wiring. we had to repair the wires and inserted the new element. The job would not have taken so long if there were any kind of instructions.

At first I tried to remove the element from the top of the oven. I took out the screws with a nut-driver (1/4"). Them I tried to pull the element out slowly so I could unplug it from the power wires. One of the wires pulled off bfore I could get it out. I then pulled the range out from the wall and removed the back from it. THEN I noticed ... Read more that if you pull the stove away from the wall first and take off the back the wires are right there and easy to take on and off. Then replace the the back panel, plug in the stove and test the element. It will give off a slight odor as the manufacturing coating is burned off.

Turned the wire protector to the side. Turned out the old bulb and replaced it with the new. Turned the wire protector back in place and I'm like new.

1)Undid two hex nuts holding broiler element in place. 2)Slipped fasteners off pegs connecting element to oven. 3)Simply reversed the process, when installing new element.

shut off power to range, removed old element, looked up part on line, shopped for best price, Part select was $30 less than sears replacement part, ordered part, part arrived in 4 days, installed new part and I was broling again.

turn off power, remove 2 screws, lift off of hanger , slide out far enough to unplug wires. remove brackets from old element, I did have to use a screw driver to open up bracket to slide over new element(new element a little larger diameter coil) reverse removal. DONE !! Thank You Part Select !
