Microwave Range Oven Temperature Sensor
PartSelect Number PS4240743
Manufacturer Part Number DG32-00002B
This is a range temperature sensor, used to detect the interior temperature of your oven when it is baking or cooking. If you notice your oven is baking unevenly or at inconsistent temperatures, will not start or has too little or too much heat, it is likely that the temperature sensor is bad, or defective. This temperature sensor features a 3.9-inch-long probe, 3.2-inch-long wire harness, and 1.7-inch-wide support bracket. Replacing this sensor is fairly simple but will require a screwdriver, wrench and drill with the appropriate Philips-head bit. Disconnect your range from the wall outlet and pull it out from the wall. Removing your range door is not necessary, but will make removing the sensor that much easier. You will now locate your temperature sensor, which will likely be near the heating element at the top/bottom of the oven. Remove any securing screws holding the heating element and/or sensor in place. At the rear of the range, disconnect and remove the rear panel to gain access to the electronics of the range. Disengage the sensor and its locking tabs, and may also require you to disconnect the terminals for the heating element if your temperature sensor is fastened to it. Remove the sensor and heating element (if necessary). If the sensor is connected to the heating element, use a wrench to unfasten it. Now you install the new temperature sensor and reassemble your oven, ensuring that wire terminals are connected correctly.

Oven would not heat consistently
My barely 4 year old Samsung range/oven began not heating consistently. Even though it said 350, for example, we had to increase to 465 to get it to bake. Thought it was the temperature sensor. Ordered and installed new one easily. That didn't solve the problem. So, rather than throw more money at parts that may not have resolved the issue, I got a new Amana range. Samsung appliances go to my 'do not buy' list along with LG!

Microwave Oven Temperature Sensor
PartSelect Number PS4240744
Manufacturer Part Number DG32-00004C
The temperature sensor, also referred to as a thermostat, probe, or thermistor sensor, is responsible for measuring the temperature inside your oven. It is a platinum-resistance sensor with a resistance of 1000 ohms. If your oven is not heating evenly, not heating at all, or showing an error message, the sensor may be faulty. Typically located inside the oven, near the top, and attached to the rear wall, you can test the sensor with a multimeter. To do so, disconnect the power, remove the back panel, disconnect the wiring harness, and detach the sensor. Set the multimeter to ohms and touch the probes to the terminals. This test must be conducted at room temperature for accurate results. Refer to your user manual for guidance. If the test results show that the sensor is broken, you must replace it. This OEM replacement part is sold individually.

oven temp wrong
Remove the oven door. Remove 3 self tappers on rear wall of oven to take off a round access panel. Pull out a pre-cut rectangle of insulation. Next I removed the 2 screws holding the sensor in place. Pulling the sensor out a bit told me I was "touching" the correct wires in the SMALL rectangular opening. The wires are not visable and 2 hands do not fit in this small opening.I looked at the NEW sensor to see the release on the sensor plug. Slip the angled needle nose into the opening and grasp the plug/release side. The plug pulled apart easily. The sensor wire pulls out with a little bit of twisting to fit it out the hole. The new plug pushes in and has to be worked down to where you can reach it. The same angled plier works to re-attach it. It takes longer to read this than to do the job. Best of luck, Al

Microwave Sensor
PartSelect Number PS8729847
Manufacturer Part Number 00642855
This temperature sensor is an OEM replacement part designed for use in ovens/ranges. The sensor detects the temperature inside the oven and relays this information to the control board, which controls the heating elements in the oven. If the sensor experiences electrical failure or mechanical damage, you will likely notice uneven cooking, inaccurate temperature readings, and difficulties heating up the oven. You can access the sensor by either removing the back panel of your appliance or by reaching through the oven/range cavity from the front. Carefully disconnect the wires attached to the sensor and pull the sensor out of the appliance. Mount the new sensor in the correct position and reconnect the wires appropriately.

Oven heating temp not turning off at set temp/overheating
Removed the wall oven to access temp probe connector strapped to the back of the oven. removed 2 screws holding probe inside the oven & replaced. Searched for the "fixing kit" thermostat part I was suggested to replace along with the probe. No thermostat type part was found in my oven, even though Bosch says it fits "somewhere". Reinstalled the wall oven & tested. The temperature is working normal now. Will return the fixing kit.
