Door handle broke at bottom
First -- and this was the key to success -- I watched a couple of Youtube videos on "Replacing a microwave door handle". As one video suggested, I placed a large towel underneath where I was working (over the stovetop) to catch any falling parts but this proved unnecessary. Once I removed the two screws from the end of the door, the inside of the door pried off easily with a screwdriver. It did want to drop quickly though, so be ready to hang onto it. The handle was attached with two screws (which I reused, no problem). It took a few minutes to re-insert the inside of the door into the frame, but once that's done, you just re-install the two end screws and you're finished. Read more...

I removed the plastic exterior of the door. The plastic exterior has to be pried off. The handle is fastened to the new exterior plastic face, and this is snapped on. Read more...

Replaced door handle with worn off silver finish.
Unscrewed 3 screws on side of door and two on the bottom. Slowly pry apart outside frame from black inside facing door. Separate pieces carefully. You won’t have to completely remove outside door cover if you have a short driver for the two Torx screws holding the handle on. Replace and carefully put back together. Tip: do not overscrew the screws, back in, it will easily crack the old plastic. Read more...
