This stop button is a safety feature used in various types of lawn and garden equipment. It is a genuine OEM replacement part which is responsible for quickly shutting off the engine in case of an emergency or when it is no longer in use. The stop button is fitted into the handle controls for easy access. If the stop button becomes damaged or dislodged from its position, you will not be able to stop the equipment in an emergency. Therefore, it is important to replace the faulty stop button promptly to ensure that this emergency measure remains available, and avoid injury to the operator. Before beginning the repair, ensure that the equipment is turned off. Disconnect the stop button wires and detach the old stop button from the handle controls. Plug the new stop button in in place and reconnect the wires. If your equipment has fasteners with hex sockets, you will need to use a hex key/Allen wrench to remove and install the stop button. Ensure that the button is fitted securely before attempting to use your equipment again.

This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with trimmers. The start/stop switch is also called the kill switch, and fits on the upper handle above the throttle. The red switch is used to shut of the engine, and has to be engaged to run the engine. The switch is sold individually.
