It is an authentic OEM sourced starter assembly, it is specially designed for use with Powermate generators. This is the mechanism that allows a user to pull-start the engine. Unfortunately, over time any of the components may wear out and begin to fail eventually requiring a replacement. It is a complete assembly which includes the durable plastic housing, the starter pulley, the starter spring, and the pull rope with the grip.
