Echo Edger Breather Assembly
PartSelect Number PS9314032
Manufacturer Part Number A356000040
This breather, also known as a fuel tank vent, is a genuine OEM replacement part used in trimmers and edgers. It is responsible for managing the pressure and air flow inside the fuel system, by acting as a valve for the fuel tank. It allows clean air to enter the tank, while preventing dirt and debris from entering as well. Over time, the breather can crack or become clogged leading to restricted air flow, inconsistent fuel supply, fuel leakage, hard starting, and engine stalling. Locate the breather on or near the fuel tank and disconnect the hoses and fasteners attached to it. Depending on your model you may need to remove the fuel tank to complete this replacement. Place the new breather in position and reattach the hoses and fasteners. Test the new part by gently blowing into the breather to confirm that the air flow is not restricted.
Echo Edger Piston Ring
PartSelect Number PS9177819
Manufacturer Part Number A101000000
This piston ring is an authentic manufacturer approved replacement part. Is is commonly used on Echo gas trimmers/edgers. The purpose of a piston ring is to create an air tight seal inside the cylinder. A worn or broken piston ring will allow combustion gases to escape the seal and enter the crankcase. This would cause low compression and a loss of power. Replacing an o-ring should resolve this issue. This part is made out of metal and is sold individually. To complete this repair you will need a set of wrenches, pliers and a screwdriver. • Remove the air cleaner • Drain the fuel • Remove the air cleaner case • Remove the carburetor • Remove the intake insulator • Remove the spark plug • Remove the engine cover • Remove the insulator gasket • Remove the starter assembly • Remove the fuel tank • Remove the air duct • Separate the engine • Bind the engine • Remove the clutch • Remove the flywheel • Remove the starter pulley • Unbind the engine • Remove the muffler • Separate the cylinder from the crankcase • Remove the piston ring • Install the piston ring • Reassemble and test the equipment
