Handle caps at both ends of dishwasher door cracked and needed to be replaced
Followed You Tube video how to replace door handle caps and used above mentioned tool. Note: could not use a regular screwdriver.
This is a door handle, which is is installed at the top of your dishwasher door and allows you to open and close it. However, if this part is missing or broken, the opening and closing your dishwasher will be more difficult, and the overall visual appearance will be less pleasing. Replacing this door handle will require a Phillips-head and flat-head screwdriver, as well as a set of pliers, and some disassembly of your dishwasher will be necessary. This door handle is an individual OEM part and does not come with any other accessories for your dishwasher.

Replacing the pocket handle on a Bosch Dishwasher
I removed the 3 #20 torn screws in the handle, and the six #20 tore screws inside the door that hold the outer door skin in place.
The plastic handle has a series of molded hooks that allow it to snap into the stainless steel skin.
To avoid damaging the skin, use a utility knife to cut behind the two large hooks o ... Read more n the bottom of the handle and the one on each end. One trimmed, the handle easily slides out of the door skin.
The new one will effortlessly snap in-place, then reposition the door skin and fasten with the 9 screw previously removed.

plastic chrome trim on the door handle was broken.
Simply removed the four screws holding the handle in place, gently removed the handle and inserted the new part. You have to be careful and work slowly in order not to damage the front of the door while getting the snap locks unsnapped.

Exterior Control Panel broke next to handle
By way of the circuit breaker. I first turned off the electricity to the dishwasher.
I removed all of the screws from the front cover, three down each side, and removed the cover exposing the front screws holding exterior control panel, I removed those screws and the screws on the back side of the panel and removed the panel.
... Read more I took all of the control buttons from the broken piece and installed them and the handle strip to the new piece. I then put the new panel in place and using the original screws secured it to the machine.
Also using the original screws, I secured the front cover to the machine.
I turned the electricity on to the dishwasher and ran a test cycle. It worked and the handle opens the machine the way it was designed.
