The throttle control, otherwise known as a throttle cable, controls the speed of your engine. This is an OEM throttle control that is black and silver in color, and made of metal with a rubberized coating. The cable can become broken, stretched, or worn over time, which will no longer allow you to have control over your engine RPMs. This will require a repair, which most of our customers found easy. You will need a screwedriver and wrench set to carry out this repair, which requires attaching the cable to the carburetor and throttle trigger.

A damaged throttle cable can keep an engine from speeding up when the trigger is pressed. It may also cause a stiff trigger or stop the engine from shutting off. First check for a blocked trigger, weak spring, loose wire, dirty fuel system, or stuck engine lever. Use the complete tool model number to check that the new assembly will fit. Work only when the engine is cool. Drain the fuel if the tool must be tipped, and remove the spark plug wire. Follow the old cable path during installation. Fasten all clips and wire plugs. Before cutting, make sure the trigger returns by itself and the stop switch works.
