This solenoid is an authentic manufacturer replacement part for use in lawn tractors. It sends the electrical current from the battery to the motor to allow the tractor to start and run. The solenoid will need to be replaced if it is damaged or experiencing electrical failure. Signs of a failed solenoid include difficulties cranking the engine, hearing clicking or no sound at all when turning the ignition key, and a starter that cannot stop running. Begin the repair by disconnecting the battery for your safety. Take a note/picture of how the wire connectors are routed before disconnecting them. Remove the bolts that secure the solenoid in place and pull the faulty part out. Position the new solenoid in its place and secure it with the mounting bolts. Use your notes to reconnect the wiring and battery.
