It will also filter out the excess oil that is in the tool. Once these Inserts get dirty and clogged they should be replaced.

This muffler assembly is an OEM part direct from Ingersoll Rand for random orbital sanders. This part decreases the noise and the dust from the sander. It is recommended to review your models diagram to verify the parts compatibility. This part is sold pre-assembled and made of durable material.

This is a genuine OEM replacement part used with the CP870 (T023990) 6" Dual Action Sander. The Chicago Pneumatic foam muffler (Incl: Index No. 48) is fitted inside the motor housing cover to decrease noise from the sander. A screwdriver is necessary in making the replacement. The foam muffler is sold individually.
