This guide bar nut is sourced from the original equipment manufacturer for use in chainsaws. It is made of metal, and has a diameter of 5/16 of an inch and a thread pitch of 18 threads per inch. The guide bar nut also has a flange on one end for added stability and security. The nut is responsible for holding the guide bar and chain in place and ensures proper tension and alignment of the chain, for safe and efficient cutting. A faulty guide bar nut will result in the chain becoming loose or detached during operation, which poses a safety risk to the user. Additionally, a loose chain will result in reduced cutting ability, and damage to the guide bar. It is recommended to check your equipment manual for the correct number of guide bar nuts needed. Each nut is sold individually. Use a socket tool to loosen and remove the old nut. Clean the area around the guide bar and thread to ensure a good fit, and then insert the new nut and tighten it securely. Ensure that the chain is adequately tensioned before attempting to use the chain saw again.
