Power Broom Assembly Cylinder & Crankcase The Cylinder and Crankcase Assembly (Engine Block) is a silver, steel, OEM assembly which includes the crankcase, cylinder and valve train. This assembly requires a wrench or socket wrench to install, and can be a challenging repair. This assembly is the main engine component that houses the piston, valves, crankshaft and other internal parts. You will know it is broken if there is a crack in it, or if the internal cylinder walls become scored and scratched, causing running issues with the engine. When there is irreparable internal damage, the part must be replaced. Check your model number for the correct replacement part. This is the main engine piece which all other parts will attach to.
