Oven gets stuck on pre heating mode, but does get hot. Not sure if the desired temperature is reached.
Hello Daryl, Thank you for reaching out. This can indicate an issue with the Temperature Sensor. We suggest having the sensor tested. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. We hope this helps!
Hello and good day. I have a Maytag glass top range with model number YMES8800FZ2 and I have discolouration on my black glass cooktop. I believe it’s from calcium or and mineral build up. Can I do something about this? Can I paint over it? Polish it to refinish the look? A mineral dissolving solution?
Please give me your advice, thank you
Hello Evgenia, Thank you for your inquiry. You can try cleaning it with hot damp cloth with a vinegar based solution, a baking soda paste or a non-abrasive cleaner. The manufacturer recommends Affresh cooktop cleaner, part# PS3492527. We hope this helps.

Following my recent question, (which was stuck on preheating )I have tested the heat sensor and it appears fine. I also tested the broiler element and it also is fine. I found no reading for the baking element which I ordered. After I re-starting up, the oven on bake, the top element fired up really quickly - no bottom element. I then saw an error code F6E1 on the display. Please help me I am truly baffled.
Hi Daryl, Thank you for reaching out again. The F6E1 error code may indicate a problem with one of the Control Boards or wiring. Thank you for the inquiry!
Hello Mark, thank you for getting in touch. If your range convection fan isn't working, first check for obstructions by unplugging the oven and manually turning the fan blade. If it's blocked or doesn't spin, a dirty motor or damaged fan might be the issue. If the fan hums but doesn't spin, the convection fan assembly, part number PS12745763, itself may be faulty and will need to be replaced. We hope this helps.

First, we turned on broil and the upper element turned orange and obviously worked. We figured the bottom element went out. The diagram on this site showed a bottom heating element that looked nothing like ours, but after reading other reviews, and reading that part that goes through the back of the oven was in the middle, and not off to

All you have to do is unplug the oven, take out the bottom pan covering the element by removing 2 screws in the back, remove the lower small cover on the back of the oven and then unplug the old element, unscrew the old element on the inside of the stove, then install the new element and put everything back like it was. Nothing to it. It worked like a charm and my oven now heats up fast again. Easiest appliance repair job ever!
