green light in the condensor section on the SIDE of the freezer about every 15 seconds first noticed going into the dark garage. NOT the green light in the front. Is this normal
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Donna, thank you for getting in touch. Yes, that’s normal. The green light on the side of the unit is the compressor-or-condenser-fan indicator. It turns on when the compressor is running and turns off when it’s idle. In a dark garage, the light can look like it’s flashing every 15?seconds because the compressor cycles on and off to maintain temperature. If the light stayed on continuously or flickered much faster, that could be a sign of a problem, but a 15-second on/off cycle is normal for this model. We hope this helps.

I just took delivery of my freezer and there have been a couple of storms come through. It appears my freezer is running because I can hear it but the red and green lights on the control panel are not on. Is there some sort of delay? Also could an appliance surge protector be used in the future?
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Debra, thank you for getting in touch. According to our research, when the freezer is first started, the compressor will run constantly until the cabinet is cooled. It may take 6 to 8 hours or longer, depending on room temperature and the number of times the freezer lid is opened. The red light indicates that the temperature inside the product is not low enough and the green light indicates that the appliance is running. If the freezer is running and the green light is off, you may need to replace it. The light comes along with the harness, part number PS16744653. You can use an appliance surge protector. We hope this information helps!
