I have an upright freezer an the red light on the control panel is on and a buzzing alarm is sounding and will not freeze water for ice?

Hello John, thank you for the great question. The red light alarm indicates that the temperature inside your appliance is still too warm. Keep your freezer door closed, and the light will go out in a few hours. If it still does not go off, you may need to replace the temperature sensor, part number PS11753994. We hope that helps!
I was clening my uprght freezer and noticed that it was preped for an icemaker. I first went to the Whilpool website and could not find my part as my freezer was a 2008 model.

... Read morer. PartSelect had the part in stock and approx $18.00 less than the other kits listed on the Whilpool site (that did not match my kit number). I orderd the kit on Sunday and it arrived on Wednesday. It took less than and hour to install. Every part I needed was included. The following day I installed the water line and now I have an extra icemaker.
I took the screws out of back panel and slid water line and panel off to the right side while I removed the capacitor and starter relay. Relay was probably the only problem, but I replaced capacitor too while I was doing the repair. Finished removal and replacement in about 20 minutes. While I had panel off I cleaned coils that I coul
