This capacitor (Refrigerator and Freezer Compressor Run Capacitor, Run Capacitor) provides the voltage or energy current required to start the compressor and keep it running. It allows the compressor in your appliance to easily cycle on and off. This capacitor mounts directly onto the compressor starting relay. If the capacitor is faulty the compressor may get unusually hot and draw excessive amperage. It the compressor overheats, it may fail to run until it cools down again. The compressor may also get noisy from overheating. If this part is totally electrically open, it is defective (often due to overheating) and needs to be replaced. The part measures 1 inch by 1-1/2 inches, and is constructed of plastic with two metal wire terminals. This item includes 1 capacitor, sold individually. This part comes in black.

Replacing this frame requires you to remove the meat drawer and the glass shelf above it, so you can flip it over and slide out the old frame, and slide in the new. This frame is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer and is sold individually, so it does not include any other parts for the meat drawer or shelf above it.

Hello - My freezer temp is warm but my refrigerator temp seems fine. I put a bluetooth thermostat in the freezer to help diagnose. The freezer temp hovers around 21F (but oscillates up to ~28F every few hours). The refrigerator temp stays a steady 38-40F. I adjusted the damper in the freezer to maximum and turned the temp to max cooling but there has been no change over the last couple of days.
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Roy, thank you for contacting us. The issue is probably related to a faulty capacitor, part number PS11757023, or a defective fan motor, part number PS11740359. Please check the compressor and if it is not running correctly, the most likely culprit is the capacitor and if the evaporator fan motor is not working then it is the evaporator fan motor. We would also recommend checking the thermistor, part number PS12745758. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!

Ernie - For model number WRT519SZDM02

About once a week our evaporator freezes up and fan starts to click on ice, thaw it out overnight and we’re good to go for another week
Chris Boyle Profile
Hi Ernie, thank you for reaching out. We have researched the model and would recommend making sure the door is sealed properly. If the door gasket is torn or not creating a reliable seal, or if the freezer is not shut tightly, humid air can leak into the freezer. When this humid air passes over the cold evaporator coils, it condenses and freezes on the coils. If humid air continually leaks into the freezer, it causes the evaporator coils to ice over too quickly, and the defrost cycle can’t keep up. We would also suggest checking the defrost heater, part number PS11752658. We hope this information helps!

My refrigerator stopped cooling and the freezer section stopped freezing
441 of 556 people found this instruction helpful.
  • garth from forest lake, MN
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers
I knew the chances of all the freon leaking out was unlikely so I looked at the wiring to the compressor and there was a capacitor and a starter/overload so i figured I would start there. I went on line and found the parts at this site and they were less than the minimum service call charge for a service tech so I figured what the heck le t's give her a shot so I did give it a shot. I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. Thanks guys, It took less time to order the parts than it did to make the repair so thanks, your website rocks and is very well designed so my hat is off to you guys!

Evaporator Fan failure

  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

The reason I repaired it myself was because the repairman that diagnosed the problem.didn't come back in two weeks. The evaporator fan sits behind a vented wall in the freezer and directs cold air into freezer and refrigerator.I removed the ice make assembly first and then the freezer wall held in place by two sheet metal nuts. Then remov ed wires from fan motor. Removed the fan blade from fan motor, which was press fitted on,then removed fan motor from bracket assembly(make sure and retain the two vibration rubber washers on back and front of motor. Reinstall new motor with vibration washers and press fan blade on new motor. Install in bracket assemble and reassemnble.

I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
