How do you get the arm down in on position in the ice maker? Stopped making ice.
For model number WRS571CIHW01
PartSelect logo
Hello Pat, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, all you need to do to realign the ice maker arm is push down on it to try to set it into a lower position. If the ice maker control arm is stuck in the "up" position and there is ice in the ice maker, defrost the freezer. Turn the home circuit breaker for the unit off for 30 seconds and back on again. Retest the unit's operation. We hope this helps!

Hi Pat, thank you for reaching out. If the arm is not moving this mean ice maker may be frozen. You need a hair dryer to melt the ice chunks. We hope this solves your problem!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE ICE AFTER REPLACING ICEMAKER. IF IT STILL DOES NOT PRODUCE ICE, AND WATER IS FLOWING FROM THE DRINKING WATER DISPENSER, WHAT MIGHT THE PROBLEM BE?THE ICEMAKER IS TURNED ON.
For model number WRS571CIHW01
PartSelect logo
Hi Kathleen, thank you for your inquiry. Allow 24 hours minimum before expecting ice after a new ice maker installation. The ice maker module has a built in thermostat. It will not begin a cycle until the ice maker tray reaches approximately 15°F to 16°F. Freezer should be set at 0°F for proper ice maker operation. Glad to be of help!

Lights inside refrigerator not working
I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.

Light Would Not Go On In The Refrigerator
First I removed the old lightbulb from the socket and replaced it with a new one to confirm that the bulb was not the problem. I then pryed the socket out with a flat-head screwdriver. I could tell that the socket was anchored in its hole with clips so it was relatively easy to pry it out. Once the socket was out, I disconnected the lead wires and ordered a replacement socket kit from Partselect. When the new one arrived, I reconnected the lead wires to it, snapped it back into its hole, screwed in a new lightbulb, and presto!! The light was back on with no further problem. Thank you, Partselect!! A $15.00 part saved me what probably would have been at least a $100. service call and heaven knows what the technician would have told me I needed!!!

while closing the door, the light switch fouled, resulting in the switch breaking
I used a flat screwdriver and released the lock tab on the bottom of the light switch, and pried the switch out, being careful to not damage the plastic around the mounting place of the switch, unplugged wiring from old switch, plugged in the new one and pushed the new switch into place. Job finished light switch now working.
