I have thermometer in both fridge and freezer, and both temps are good.. seems like compressor only turns off during the defrost cycle. When setting temperature for for warmer or colder, do more check marks mean colder or warmer. whirlpool recommendation is 3 check marks for both sides of appliance
Chris Boyle Profile
Hi Michael, thank you for contacting us. The set point range of the temperature is 1 bar means least cold to 5 bars the coldest. The fact that the compressor only turns off during the defrost cycle is normal, as the compressor usually runs continuously to maintain the set temperature, except during the defrost cycle when it temporarily shuts off to allow the defrost process to occur. We hope this information helps!

plastic Ice bin auger broke and needed to be replaced
56 of 67 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Suzanne from Colorado Springs, CO
  • Easy

The repair was actually easy; however I have an ice dispencer/crusher attached and the which the diagram supplied with the part did not include. I had to make several calls before I was e-mailed the diagram.
Suggestions: note that the screw at the end of the auger goes in the reverse direction (this took me about 20 minutes to fi gure out even though it was shown in the diagram). Also, be sure to keep the ice crusher parts in order and be sure the white plastic tab on the crusher fits into a depression in the housing. I did not notice this and had to take it all apart and redo the install. It works great!!!
