Replaced freezer light but it only works when the refrigerator side is open. I accidentally tripped the breaker and a piece of a plastic toggle switch fell out of the mounting hole in freezer section for the light when it surged. What part # is that and how do I replace it?

Hi Aaron, thank you for reaching out. The refrigerator lights are controlled by a door switch. The door switch turns the lights ON only when the doors are open. The plastic toggle switch is the door switch, part number PS12731166. To install the door switch, you may need to pull out the wires from inside. The white wire goes to the most wide-open one and the red wire goes to the opposite side of the white wire. The blue wire goes to the middle pin of the switch. After the connections completed, put the wires back inside. To install the new switch, you need to rotate it slightly and push it in. Good luck with your repair!

I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. Thanks guys, It took less time to order the parts than it did to make the repair so thanks, your website rocks and is very well designed so my hat is off to you guys!
The repair was actually easy; however I have an ice dispencer/crusher attached and the which the diagram supplied with the part did not include. I had to make several calls before I was e-mailed the diagram. Suggestions: note that the screw at the end of the auger goes in the reverse direction (this took me about 20 minutes to fi
... Read moregure out even though it was shown in the diagram). Also, be sure to keep the ice crusher parts in order and be sure the white plastic tab on the crusher fits into a depression in the housing. I did not notice this and had to take it all apart and redo the install. It works great!!!
