I can not get the filter to turn, it has been 6 months i need to replace it. Are there any methods i should use? I have tried to turn it counterclockwise it will not turn off.
Hello Frank, thank you for your question. Ensure the compartment door is open completely. Depending on how the shelves are arranged you may need to remove the shelf that is located just below the water filter compartment. Turn the filter counterclockwise, to the left, and pull it straight out. If it will not remove and is seized on completely, you may have to replace the water filter housing assembly. To change it, you would remove the light cover, which is held in place by a screw and tabs. Remove the screw and slide the cover to remove it. Good luck with your repair.

Pressed in the end of the filter cover, lowered it down part way. Twisted the old filter 1/4 turn and removed it. Set in the sink to drain. Inserted new filter and twisted it to lock. closed cover. Done. Total time @ 1 Minute.
