Is this a rheostat?

Hello Doug, Thank you for your inquiry. We show that this is the switch that controls the fan motor and is used to relay electricity to the motor. Since a rheostat is used to control current and vary the resistance in a circuit without interruption, then this would be considered a rheostat. We hope this helps.
