All of a sudden, the drawer won’t freely slide out when I push on the step. It only comes out 1 inch and I have to grab it to slide it out to put trash in the basket.
For model number UCG1680L0SS
Hello Philip, thank you for reaching out. The drawer rides on plastic rollers. If a roller is cracked or has a "flat spot," the initial momentum from the pedal won't be enough to overcome the friction. You may need to replace the roller. The drawer roller assembly for your model is part number PS16591421. We hope this helps!

Trash compactor would not shut off at end of cycle. Would have to manually turn it off.
Removed compactor from opening. Using screw driver unthreaded 4 screws from top and then removed the on/off dial. Face plate came off easy and provided access to relay switch bank. Unscrewed two screws which allowed both relay switches to be removed and replaced. Recommend replacing both relay switches. Reassembled and compactor work

RAM was crooked. Power Nut was stripped.
Followed YouTube instructions. Was relatively easy to dismantle, though on this GE Profile model compactor, needed to partially undo the front panel to provide room to remove the RAM. Works great now!!
