Mullion heater on fridge french doors broke
6 of 8 people found this instruction helpful.
  • ANDREW from SAN FRANCISCO, CA
  • Very Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers
The Mullion heater flap that connects french doors of Thermador fridge broke. It was hanging off hinges and needed to be removed and replaced. Local repair shop quoted $500 (!!!) for installation and same price for the part. Decided to DIY fix it.

I used needle nose pliers and I needed a star key wrench to loosen the panel of t he fridge door to remove the old broken parts. Then I was able to insert the new parts, tighten fridge panel, hang the new heater on two hinges, attach electric cable for the heater and DONE.

Received parts from Partselect within 3 business days and got free shipping by asking for it. Repair was super straightforward.

10/10 would recommend doing yourself if you face this issue.
