Plug
Part #040-11400-30
An oil drain plug is a part designed to facilitate a convenient and controlled method for draining the oil from an engine and is commonly positioned at the lower part of the machine, threaded into the oil sump or pan, offering an easier point for oil removal. This plug is designed for use within various types of small engine equipment and requires a hex socket wrench to remove and install. This plug is an OEM part that is sold as an individual and prevents any oil from leaking from the oil sump/pan and need only be removed for oil changes. If you notice an oil leak or poorer performance from your equipment, it may be due to an oil leak caused by a broken or loose plug. To replace this plug, ensure you use the torque setting set by the manufacturer of your equipment to properly secure it.

Flange Nut
Part #002-38060-00
This OEM flange nut in your engine is a fastener that secures different engine assemblies, like the intake system or the fuel tank. It has a wide, flat base for stability and even load distribution. With a diameter of 6 mm, a thread pitch of 1 mm, and a flange diameter of 13 mm, it is commonly found at assembly attachment points or in areas that vibrate. You can tell if a flange nut is broken by checking for bending, cracking, or missing pieces. You may also notice loose assemblies. Not replacing a broken flange nut can lead to issues such as air or fuel leaks and a loss of engine power. To remove a damaged nut, consult your user manual for its location and use a wrench or socket to unthread it. Please note that this flange nut is sold individually, so it is essential to confirm the quantity required for your specific machine. It is also a good idea to keep some extras on hand for future repair needs.
Gasket – Part Number: 021-11400-20
No Longer Available
Gasket
Part #021-11400-20
This gasket, also known as the oil drain plug gasket, is a ring-shaped, metal component used in outdoor power engines. It is supplied by the manufacturer and can be found at the bottom of the engine oil pan where the drain plug is installed. The gasket is responsible for sealing the area between the oil drain plug and the engine block to prevent oil from leaking during oil changes. Over time the gasket can wear down, corrode, or crack. If the gasket can no longer seal the area, oil will escape from the oil pan, leading to inadequate lubrication, increased friction, and engine damage. Before you begin the repair, drain the oil from the engine to prevent contamination. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug. Peel off the old gasket, and thoroughly clean the drain plug and oil pan surface. Install the new gasket and ensure that it sits firmly on the oil pan. Finally, reinstall the drain plug, and be careful to avoid overtightening it.
