This packing, also known as a gasket, is sourced from the original manufacturer for use in outdoor power equipment engines. It is a small rubber ring designed to seal the area between the fuel strainer bowl and the fuel tank/line to prevent fuel leaking out and air entering. Over time the rubber material may become brittle, crack, or lose...Read more its elasticity. A faulty ring will result in improper fuel flow, fuel leakage and even engine failure, disconnect any relevant components, carefully remove the old packing, clean the surfaces, install the new packing and associated components, reconnect the parts, and test for leaks and proper operation. Detach the starter assembly from the fuel system and carefully set it aside. Remove the packing and clean the mating surfaces to remove dirt, debris, and remaining residue. Position the new packing on the mating surface and reattach the starer assembly.
It is a genuine replacement part that is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Subaru/Robin engines commonly installed on lawn and garden equipment. This is the special component which provides an air-tight seal for the exhaust manifold, over time it may wear out and crack eventually requiring a replacement. It is a high-quality gasket which is made of durable metal and is sold individually.
