Got a hand-me-down stand up freezer and ever since we plugged it in a week ago it is not getting entirely cold. The piping on the side of one of the shelves has frosted over, but the freezer itself is not freezing. Every diy video I have seen suggests removing a panel to expose coils and clean them but I do not see any place I can remove a panel within or outside of the freezer. Could the freezer just require more coolant, or could this be something else? The motor seems to be running since it is making a humming noise and that one pipe frosted over.

It certainly sounds more like it could be a faulty run capacitor PS11757023, you should check the part(s) for signs of damage, and replace as necessary. I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
An easy job for smaller hands. Removed the two bolts holding the light cover. Removed two electrical connections from the old switch by pinching the retaining clip,removed the switch, snapped in the new one and re-attached the connectors.
