The water in your home can contain impurities that affect its clarity, taste, smell, and safety. Water can contain dirt, rust, chlorine, or water-hardening minerals. These deposits can cause health issues, damage to your refrigerator, and leave your water and ice cloudy and undrinkable. This OEM water filter uses a block of activated carbon to filter these pollutants out, giving you healthy, clear, great-tasting water and ice. This filter fits many Samsung refrigerators, and is rated NSF 42 and 53, which certifies that this fridge filter removes pollutants including: chlorine, cysts, asbestos, benzene, sediment, and sand. A good way to judge whether the filter needs to be replaced is when the water flow to the dispenser starts slowing down and there has been no change to the water pressure to the product. There is no bypass needed. Just remove the filter and it will automatically bypass the water filter. It has an easy twist design making the replacement quick and painless with no need for tools or mess. It measures 2.13 inches by 2.13 inches by 8.86 inches and weights 0.56 lbs. Replace every six months.

Part #DA61-08247A
This freezer handle support is a 2.5-inch by 1-inch white plastic bracket designed to provide support and stability to the right side of the freezer door handle. It is an authentic manufacturer replacement part that distributes the force placed on the handle during use to prevent excessive stress on one area of the handle. The handle support also secures the handle to the freezer door. You can find it on the inner right side of the freezer door handle. Over time the screw that secures the handle support may wear down or become stripped, or the plastic bracket may crack, causing the handle support to become unstable and unable to support the door handle. To access the faulty handle support bracket, first unthread the screws that secure it to the freezer door handle. Detach the handle and remove the screws that secure the handle support to the freezer door. Align the new handle support with the attachment points on the freezer door and secure it with the appropriate screws. Attach the handle to the new support and ensure it is securely fastened. Be careful not to not to overtighten the screws, to avoid stripping the mounting holes and damaging the handle support. Screws are sold separately. Please note that this support is for the right side of the handle. The left-side support is sold separately.

Evaporator frozen (refrigrator section) and allowing top section to lose cooling
106 of 180 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Richard from GULFPORT, MS
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
This is the Samsung French door refrigerator style that so many people have complained about freezing up and not cooling the top section. I first changed out the defrost thermostat and this did not correct the problem. I done a quick resistance check on the temp sensor that's mounted on the evaporator itself. The resistance would change w hen holding an ice cube on the sensor so I just assumed it was ok. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: When performing a resistance check on this sensor, make sure your readings match the Samsung temp/resistance chart in their literature. My sensor was way off calibration and was causing the freeze up. Its working as designed now and DW is happy again. Learn from my mistake.
