Downdraft vent was installed in new home. There is a long rectangular black rubber gasket that the vent rests on when not being used. This gasket has gotten disfigured maybe from heat off cooktop. Is there a replacement gasket?

When we press the button, our vent raises and then lowers repeatedly. It will stop if the button is pressed when the vent is nearly fully lowered. The fan never seems to come on, but it might just be deactivating when the vent is lowering. Do the limit switches need adjusting (or replacing), or is it something else, like the relay or the speed controller that needs fixing?

The downdraft vent I wanted would rise up 10". The one I ordered went up 15". Looked like the Great Wall of China on our countertop.
