My dryer was not hearing up and will not shut off. I was still running it for hours at a time to dry clothes a d now it is making a grinding noise. Easy fix or do i need to replace the whole dryer
    For model number NED4600YQ1
Hi Ashley, Thank you for your question. If your dryer is not heating and will not shut off, check the vent for any clogs. If lint is clogging the vent, it will need to be cleaned out. The vent should be cleaned out at least twice a year. There are some other parts that you will need to check as well to see if one of them is causing the issue. Here are links from our website that you may reference on what parts to check, https://www.partselect.com/AdvancedModelSymptoms.aspx?ModelNum=NED4600YQ1&mfgModelNum=&fkMfgID=1&ModelMasterID=829762&PID=39 and https://www.partselect.com/AdvancedModelSymptoms.aspx?ModelNum=NED4600YQ1&mfgModelNum=&fkMfgID=1&ModelMasterID=829762&PID=19. You will need to test the parts with a multi-meter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may use as a general reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. For more information on how to test these parts, click on the Appliance Repair link on our website and on the next page that comes up click on the dryer icon. When the next page comes up, you will be provided with a symptoms list. Choose the "No heat or not enough heat" and "Will not shut off" symptoms and the information will come up for you. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

I've replaced both thermo stats and the heating element and it still only stays hot for about 15 minutes and then cools down. Why does it not stay hot for the time it's set on?
    For model number NED4600YQ1
Hi Michael, thank you for your question. If you have checked the two thermostats and the two thermal fuses you have on your appliance and they are working, then you may need to go on to your timer for being the issue. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. Good luck with your repair.

Does this model have a light, if not how do u tell if power is still going to dryer if breaker feels fine?
    For model number NED4600YQ1
Hello Kerry, Thank you for the question. This model does not have a light listed. If there is power going to the appliance it should start once the door is closed. You can also test the Outlet with a Multi Meter. We hope this helps!

      No Heat
First tried heating element and thermal fuse with no luck. Ordered thermal cutoff and fixed problem. Had I used an ohm meter first I would have determined problem before having ordered heating element and fuse, as both had resistance. I wast just lazy and ordered the took the most common failed components first before taking dryer back off.

Dryer would take forever to dry clothes, even on high setting
I ordered all the thermal sensors for the dryer. They arrived two days later and they were the correct parts. It took me about 1/2 hour to replace all three sensors and now the dryer works like new again. My wife was very pleased, so was I.
