Zip Tie
Part #WPW10339879
A zip tie, also known as a cable tie or a wire tie, is a fastening device that holds wires or tubing together. If a machine has wires or tubing that are easily shifted, you need to hold them tightly together using a zip tie. It is a flexible, plastic strip that has serrated teeth and a locking mechanism. If the zip tie is damaged, it should be replaced. Freely moving wires may rub against surfaces, causing them to break over time. Zip ties are single-use and may not be reused after they are removed from a machine. To release the locking mechanism, you will need to insert a small flat tool into the head of the zip tie, between the tongue and the serration, and depress the bar. You can then pull the teeth out of the mechanism to loosen the cable tie. This part is produced by the original equipment manufacturer and is sold individually.

Broken Belt on Wave Disperser
8 of 9 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Harold from Foxfield, CO
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Nutdriver
The microwave is the upper unit of combination microwave & conventional oven. Disconnect power to the unit. Slide unit out of built-in cabinet to expose the top shield of the microwave. Remove 5 screws holding top cover in place. Remove cover, which exposes the belt reel and drive motor. Install the new belt by threading it on the dr ive motor pulley, then walk the new belt on the stirrer pulley. Replace the top cover and reinstall the 5 screws. Reinstall the combination unit in the wall cabinet. Reconnect electrical power. Task Complete. The belt just seem to die of old age about every seven year. Without the wave disperser operating, the microwave oven does not give even heating.

Cooking rack support melted
6 of 6 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Ernie from Collinsville, IL
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers
Just pulled the old support out with pliers and installed the new one which snaps in. Not sure why the support melted as it has been the same one twice now. Keep extra support clips on hand, but no need as Parts Select had the new ones here next day.

broken belt on wave disperser
3 of 6 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Wendell from Hot Springs Village, AR
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers, Socket set
This microwave is the upper unit in combination with an oven. Microwave portion is Model RM288PXS. Cut power at breaker box. Remove metal frame around 2 sides and top, (5 screws). Remove 4 screws on bottom, whicn anchors the unit to the frame.Remove contol panel (2 screws at top) and swing down. Pull out female electrical socket at bottom right back in conrol unit space. Now pull out microwave from frame about 6-8 inches. This provides access to pulleys on the motor and wave disperser. Put on belt. Reverse the above procedure to finalize the repair. This is the 3rd time I have had to replace this belt. They last about 6-7 years. Without the wave disperser , the microwave does not provide even heat.
