This door strike is an authentic OEM replacement part that is compatible with various models of top-load washing machines. The door strike is located along the door frame, where it engages with the latch when the door is closed. It keeps the door securely shut so that the washer can start and prevents it from swinging open while the washer is running. It is a safety mechanism that prevents water leakage, injuries, and damage to the washer. If the door strike is damaged or worn down, it may be unable to lock the door properly and the washer may stop mid-cycle or fail to start altogether. The hose clamp is used to hold the water hose in place which will prevent the hose from leaking water. Sometimes the clamp may lose its ability to latch on, causing a leaking washer. For the installation, you will need a flat head screw driver to replace the clamp and a drill to access the screws to remove the front of the washer. Be careful if you do not have specific clamp pliers as the clamp could fly off. Once the front of the washer has been removed, take a quick look for water damage or any obvious signs of where the leak is coming from. If it is not obvious, run water to test.

Appliance spray paint is a great way to cover up any chips and scratches that have appeared on your appliances. Instead of replacing the part entirely, this is an easy fix. This is also a great way to give a fresh new look to any handles or areas that have discoloring due to wear. Make sure to clean the area before you begin and wear a protective mask for safety. Give the can a good shake and spray a few inches away from the surface. Apply the paint until the area is fully covered as desired. Wait until the paint has dried before using the appliance.

My washer repeatedly tells me it does not detect water, it may have 1/2 tub, it will also come on in middle of night yo start a 3hr soak cycle, I don’t have a soak cycle selection, it might fill with water (I always use deep fill) because I don’t want my clothes torn apart when it agitates with practically no water, Help
Chris Boyle Profile
Hi Jane, Thank you for your question. If the washer is not detecting water coming into the washer and it turns on by itself, the electronic control board is malfunctioning and it will need to be replaced. The part number for the electronic control board is PS12745529. We hope this helps!

Faulty fill valve

  • Marian from GREYBULL, WY
  • Really Easy

Did troubleshooting after code LF showed on indicator window. Did troubleshooting; checked hoses for obstructions and small filters on inlets. All good. Ordered new fill valve. Came in a few days, good service.
Removed control panel top by removing screws on back of control panel, then by pushing putty knife under each side to rele ase spring clips. Carefully lifted cover and set onto lid. Photographed fill valve at left side as you are standing in front of machine. Removed screws with small ratchet. Carefully removed wires via clips. Lifted out valve.
Attached wires to new, set back into its place, replaced screws, tightened but not too tight so as to break part. Replaced control panel, pushing downward to engage spring clips, then replace screws on back.
Re attached hoses, ensuring they were on the correct sides, plugged machine into power, ran through cycle and VIOLA!! Worked perfectly!! After a couple weeks, still working perfectly! Was VERY happy it was only fill valve and not mother board as the cost was a fraction.
I found trouble shooting videos to be very helpful. Your service quite good.
