Stable food storage depends on shelf supports that are firmly attached and free from damage. A worn clip can allow a wire shelf or basket to tilt, rattle, or fall. Check whether the replacement is made for the right or left side, since the pieces may not be interchangeable. Match it to the full refrigerator or freezer model. Empty the shelf, remove it carefully, and press the new clip into its mounting point without forcing it. Do not reload the shelf until it feels secure.
