the unit is in a warm room that is humid due to a washing machine and dryer. The unit is about 3 years old and has worked well. A few weeks ago, it started turning off. I checked and there is no water in the bucket. I just cleaned the filters. what else should I check? Thank you.

Hello Barbara, thank you for reaching out to us. Dehumidifiers work best in temperatures between approximately 5°C (41°F) and 35°C (95°F). If the room is too cold, the evaporator coils may freeze, causing the unit to shut down. Ensure nothing is blocking the front or back of the dehumidifier, lack of proper air flow can cause the unit to overheat. Check the humidity sensor, part number PS18182870, a faulty or dirty humidity sensor can misread the room's moisture level, causing the unit to turn off quickly. We would also recommend try cleaning the coils. We hope this information helps!
